Research and Development Placements - Manchester
Join our Research and Development team in Blackley, Manchester where you’ll be welcomed as one of the team, working alongside some of the best minds in the business who will encourage you to think differently and share your ideas while supporting you to develop your skills and gain valuable hands on, real life experience in a fast moving global business.
Research Chemist
On placement within the Research Team, you will be working on the synthesis and development of novel polymeric dispersants for paints, inks or plastics as well as performing synthetic experiments. By working alongside technical experts, you will learn how to effectively discuss results at meetings and quarterly check-ins.
Applications Chemist
As a student within the Applications Team, you will have the opportunity to gain experience working within applications testing for polymer synthesis and organic chemistry. You will be working on the development, manufacturing and performance testing of new paints, coatings, inks or plastics using novel and commercial pigment dispersants or polymer binders, performing experiments, keeping an up to date laboratory note book, analysing results and presenting back to your key stakeholders.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK for the duration of the placement, and have completed a minimum of 2 years of an undergraduate degree but will not have graduated at the start of the placement.
You must be studying towards a chemistry related degree and achieving a 2:1 or above.
