Legal Associate Placement

SAP is looking for passionate, motivated and articulate second year students, currently on course for a 2:1 degree with a keen interest in working in a fast-paced and exciting environment. The Role

SAP has placement opportunities in Legal, License and Commercial. Please specify in your CV/Cover letter which job opportunity you would like your application to be considered for.

Commercial Business Associate

As a Commercial Associate you will be working in a fast-paced dynamic team, providing a key role in deal construction and support, drafting and administering contracts, and assisting in pipeline development and generation. You will have opportunity to be involved in ad hoc projects touching all revenue generating areas of SAP, with potential to attend and support with customer meetings. Working alongside senior management you ensure all sales deals are signed and delivered to the Order Management Teams and check all paperwork is signed compliantly by customers, whilst obtaining SAOP signatures. The role is a great insight into all aspects of SAP with involvement of sales, finance, legal, support as well as Commercial.

Role Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Especially Excel)
  • Business, accounting, IT experience / working knowledge would be an advantage but not essential
  • Time management and the ability to multi-task
  • Effective communicator
  • Inquisitive and not afraid to ask questions

License Associate

Focus on supporting specific projects and initiatives for License Management across multiple regions. Key responsibilities may include assisting in the implementation of new best practises or tools, the development of ad hoc reporting, team event organisation and coordinating internal team resource. You also have a key role in ensuring contractual compliance and producing license entitlements. The license management initiatives change dynamically depending on business priorities enabling you to gain an insight into strategic business focus and develop quick thinking and versatile skills. You will be exposed to multiple business functions of SAP, across multiple countries and be responsible for providing regular updates and report to regional management.

Legal Associate

As a Legal Associate, you will gain experience working within the in-house legal department of a multinational technology company that will be incredibly valuable when it comes to applying for training contracts with law firms. Your primary roles include, but are not limited to, reviewing and advising on SAP and customers non-disclosure agreements, procurement and marketing documentation; assisting lawyers in software sales transactions; being the first point of contact for Novation and Amendment queries, as well as internal corporate queries and training the SAP sales team on legal matters. The geographic scope of your role will be diverse and varied, ranging from your standard responsibilities, to assisting with other legal department matters, such as litigation support, enforcement of SAP’s trademarks and numerous other ad hoc tasks. The broad range of opportunities provided to you during your 13 months with SAP will assist you in focusing in on particular areas of law that you have a passion to pursue in your postgraduate career.
