Embrace evolving technology. Keep an eye on current affairs. Take the right step forward.

Enjoy a summer earning while you learn how EY’s Consulting teams solve our clients’ business problems. Here, it’s all about better connections, so you’ll be expected to build relationships and network. You’ll not only get a feel for the business world with on-the-job experience, but also opportunities to meet influential experts and gain new skills that will shape the rest of your career. This is your moment to thrive.

What is Consulting at EY?

In Consulting, our purpose of building a better working world is embodied in our mission to transform businesses through the power of people, technology and innovation. The working world is constantly changing. For our clients, this can create better ways of doing things but it might also involve more risks. Our job is to combine industry knowledge and innovative thinking with a knack for asking thoughtful questions to help solve our clients’ toughest business problems. Our solutions involve everything from new technologies and end-to-end transformations to safety systems and HR plans. This is how we create long-term value – and long-lasting careers.

What will you be doing?

Whether you join us in Business Consulting, Technology Consulting, Enterprise Risk or People Advisory Services – Workforce Advisory, you’ll be developing your core consulting and people skills and working with supportive teams on real client projects. Before long, you’ll be doing similar work to our graduates, which could include:

  • Working with local or global clients in our diverse teams
  • Developing your technical analytical skills
  • Combining your business and technology knowledge to help clients adopt new tech innovations
  • Using your tech knowledge and business experience to recommend the best solutions for our clients
  • Tech transformation – helping to define and execute IT strategy aligned to business objectives
  • Data & Analytics – helping clients gain competitive advantage through the effective use of their data assets
  • UKI Solution Delivery – supporting clients through large scale transformation programmes and system implementations
  • Researching industry trends, learning about challenges and looking for client solutions

If everything works out well, you could even secure a job here after you graduate. Together, we’ll define and activate that purpose, creating sustainable and long-term value as a connected business. This is your time to grow.

Entry requirements

If you’re in your penultimate year at university, or if you’re already in your final year but will be doing a one-year Master’s degree, or taking a gap year, this internship is for you. We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need to be working towards an Honours degree in any subject – some programmes will require a subject relevant to the business area – have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, and three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply.

“I can’t believe it’s gone so quickly. I’ve just thought back about all the things I’ve been doing and when I started I wouldn’t have guessed I would have done half the things I’ve been up to.” Lousie, Consulting Summer Internship

Project You. It’s yours to build.
