IT Industrial Placement

This is your chance to get a real taste of retail, as you're exposed to every facet of our business over the 12 months of your placement.

The National IT department is at the very heart of Aldi. We're made up of small high-performing teams, and you can expect plenty of exposure plus hands-on experience of an IT department within a global company. Typically, you could join us as part of a technical team supporting the live business, part of a large scale project team or even have responsibility for a smaller scale project by yourself.

Many of the opportunities available will depend on what's going on with the business at the time. Business Intelligence Industrial Placement

We are looking for someone to work alongside the team of Business Intelligence and Reporting Analysts to liaise with various business units to produce and interpret reports that will enable managers to make more informed decisions.

You will be responsible for manipulating large amounts of data, primarily using SQL through SSRS but and other technologies to produce reliable, accurate and informative reports that meet the business demands. There will be the opportunity for you to work independently on projects that will deliver tangible benefits to a global company.

Ideally you will have a background or interest in data manipulation and report creation with strong SQL skills. You will be provided with the necessary level of supervision throughout the placement but should be able to confidently communicate with different areas of the business so good people skills would be required.

IT Project Coordinator

The Global IT system landscape of the Aldi South group is undertaking a transformation under the management of the International Transformation Organisation (ITO) department. In this role you will be part of the Country Deployment team that will support the release of various applications within Great Britain and Ireland.

Within your placement, you will be involved in projects within various disciplines, ranging from project management and change management to supporting the architecture and integration topics of ALDI’s IT solutions. You will engage with a range of national and international colleagues, take ownership across a variety of tasks and provide technical and administrative support to the infrastructure coordinator as required.

Ideally you will be working towards a 2:1 in an IT-based degree with proficiency in all MS Office programmes. You will be willing to take responsibility and have a pragmatic, goal-oriented approach. The ideal candidate will also be open minded, able to prioritise tasks and have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
