Technology Consulting Summer Internship

What is Technology Consulting at EY?

Our job is to understand what technological challenges our clients are facing, and then find the best solutions to help them improve how they work. Our teams specialise in a range of skills from those with existing programming expertise to those from an unrelated background but the desire to learn. It’s about being tech-savvy and great with people.

What will you be doing?

  • Working across a range of industries to address technology challenges for our clients
  • Building your knowledge of data analytics, robotics and emerging technologies like blockchain
  • Using your tech knowledge and business experience to recommend the best solutions for our clients
  • You’ll also be expected to be flexible and spend large proportions of your time away from your office.

Are you eligible to apply?

We're looking for students that have a passion and interest in technology and/or those that have some experience of: SQL, Python, R, VBA, SPSS or Minitab and experience with databases, data analysis/manipulation and reporting.

If you’re in your penultimate year at uni (doing any degree course) or, you’re already in your final year but will be doing a one-year master’s degree or taking a gap year, this internship is for you. You’ll also need a minimum of Level 2/GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language & Maths, and three A-levels, 5 Highers or equivalent.

Business skills training

You'll have access to a broad suite of learning resources to develop your consulting and technical skills including our EY Badges programme which offers structured learning leading to accreditation in a range of of subject domains including data visualisation, innovation and blockchain.

Start your career journey

Join a supportive and inclusive culture, build your strengths and develop new business skills to set you on the right path in your career. Working on client projects, gain insight into our service offerings and become an integral part of our team. We are proud to have won several awards for being one of the best companies to work for.

How’s it structured?

First things first – you’ll have an induction. Then you’ll join your team in either UK & Ireland or Financial Services and start working with your new colleagues on real client projects. At this point, you can stop thinking of yourself as an intern and start thinking of yourself as a consultant.

You could be helping major banks transform entire data management systems, or advising FinTech start-ups on their next best move. Don’t forget that your colleagues can help and teach you, too, so ask lots of questions. If you do a great job, you could be offered a place on a graduate programme, when you finish university.
