Actuarial – Life Insurance Summer Internship

What is Actuarial – Life Insurance at EY?

From emerging markets to tech driven disruption, there are lots of new challenges facing the insurance industry. As part of the EMEIA (Europe, Middle East, India and Africa) Insurance Risk and Actuarial Services team, we offer planning and strategic solutions to help clients manage risks and grow.

What will you be doing?

  • Writing reports, communicating with clients and presenting your work
  • Developing dashboards, producing visualisations and performing analytics to support client needs
  • Contributing to actuarial audits, mergers and acquisitions, actuarial modelling and more
  • Communicating with people in our UK offices and across EMEIA

Are you eligible to apply?

If you achieved an A in A-Level maths (or Scottish Higher / Baccalaureate equivalent) and have an honours degree in a numbers-based subject like mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, physics or similar, or you’re already in your final year but will be doing a one-year master’s degree or taking a gap year, this internship is for you. You’ll also need a minimum of Level 2/GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language & Maths, and three A-levels, 5 Highers or equivalent.

Start your career journey

Join a supportive and inclusive culture, build your strengths and develop new business skills to set you on the right path in your career. Working on client projects, gain insight into our service offerings and become an integral part of our team. We are proud to have won several awards for being one of the best companies to work for.

How’s it structured?

After kicking things off with an EY induction, you’ll join a team and start working on real client projects – just like our graduates. Don’t forget that your colleagues can help and teach you too, so ask lots of questions. If you do a great job, you could be offered a place on the Actuarial graduate programme to come back to, when you finish uni.
