Actuarial – Non-life Insurance Summer Internship

What is Actuarial – Non-Life Insurance at EY?

A fast-changing world can create lots of opportunity for non-life insurance businesses, but it also creates new risks. It’s our job to help clients identify and manage these risks by asking the right questions, setting priorities and creating action plans for long-term success.

What will you be doing?

  • Using modelling and analysis to understand clients’ businesses
  • Working with UK and global insurance and reinsurance companies on reserve reviews, transactions, portfolio transfers, actuarial modelling and more
  • Analysing data, communicating with clients, writing reports and presenting your work
  • Building proposals for new business pitches

Are you eligible to apply?

If you achieved an A in A-Level maths (or Scottish Higher / Baccalaureate equivalent) and are in your penultimate year at uni studying a numbers-based subject like mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, physics or similar, or you’re already in your final year but will be doing a one-year master’s degree or taking a gap year, this internship is for you. You’ll also need a minimum of Level 2/GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language & Maths, and three A-levels, 5 Highers or equivalent.

Start your career journey

Join a supportive and inclusive culture, build your strengths and develop new business skills to set you on the right path in your career. Working on client projects, gain insight into our service offerings and become an integral part of our team. We are proud to have won several awards for being one of the best companies to work for.

How’s it structured?

After kicking things off with an EY induction, you’ll join a team and start working on real client projects – just like our graduates. Don’t forget that your colleagues can help and teach you too, so ask lots of questions. If you do a great job, you could be offered a place on the Actuarial graduate programme to come back to, when you finish uni.
