Global Finance Industrial Placement

• Applicant must be studying an Accounting Degree and on track for a 2:1
• 12 months placement position in the Global London Office, Shoreditch
• Reports to Finance Manager – Global Accounting and Reporting Team
• Active role within the Accounting, Planning, Taxation & Reporting areas of McDonald’s Global Finance
• Use of Accounting Software - AS400 and Oracle

Principle Responsibilities

Intercompany Accounting

• Intercompany Balances Settlement between the McDonald’s entities

Trial Balance Review

• Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Bank Account Reconciliation/Monitoring

Accounts Payable

• Tracking invoices from key suppliers, PWC and EY
• Invoice processing and approval
• Managing the online invoices approval matrix and the users list

Compliance

• Purchase Orders for Global Technology spend - Cost Control measure
• Monitor the Employees T&E process and T&E audit
• New Starters/Leavers processes
• Induction for the new starters

Audit/Tax

• Support the Tax Accounting Team during the Quarterly VAT returns
• Support with Tax Compliance
• Financial Audit Preparation - External Auditors

Planning/Projections

• Quarterly projection update for Office Services & Management
• 2021 planning for Office Services & Management

Other

• Tax, Finance & Accounting projects based on the Business requirements
• Collating and reviewing data from McDonald’s markets for VW and BMW Car Rebates

Relationships

Internal

• Global teams based all over the world
• Key Teams - Global Tax, Accounting, Planning, Reporting, Treasury Team, People Team, UK GBS Team, Technology Team, Legal Team and the Development Team

External

• External Auditors, Bank Liaison Team, Travel Management Company, American Express, Key Suppliers

Knowledge and Experience

• High level of understanding of Accounting principles and double entries
• High level of analytical & numerical skills
• A strong level of IT proficiency – especially Microsoft Excel including formulae
• Adaptable with a positive, can do attitude and organised
• Good communication skills

Details and Benefits

• 52 week contract (typically June 2020 – June 2021)
• £14,500 (plus £3,000 London Weighting Allowance if applicable)
• 4 weeks holiday + bank holidays
