Successful applicants will join the 4C Centre of Excellence team that supports our consulting teams working with our blue-chip clients throughout the UK and abroad. Key skills include the ability to effectively carry out research, analyse and solve complex analytical problems, work closely with others, lead and persuade others and implement effective solutions.

Main Objectives

Placement students will join as Junior Analysts in the 4C Centre of Excellence (CoE) team; a multi-client facing team based primarily in 4C’s London offices, but with regular visits to client offices. The CoE team provides analytical and consulting support, developing standard processes & procedures and providing more effective ways of working.

When in a client facing role, you will play a crucial role in the team and support the proactive identification of opportunities for cost reduction and performance improvement. You will work alongside experienced consultants gaining a unique insight into procurement processes and transformation projects – as well as our approach to consulting across diverse market sectors.

You will receive a customised training induction to maximise your learning and suitability for rapid introduction to 4C client account work. If you do well on your placement there may be the offer of a full-time role for you to take up upon completion of your degree.

Key Tasks

Within the Centre of Excellence team, you will typically undertake tasks such as: data, spend & category analysis, building models & dashboards, conducting research and supporting eSourcing, tenders & negotiations.

In addition, client projects will range from initial prospecting & bidding support, to any sort of live project activities required to ensure the successful client delivery; adaptability, resilience and problem solving are key attributes!

You will be expected to develop your skills throughout the year, including taking advantage of the induction training provided. Delivered through video resource and regular face to face sessions, the training focuses on increasing your commercial knowledge, building your consulting skillset and familiarizing yourself with the technology that is becoming a standard in the modern world.
