Electronics, Software and Systems Engineering Placement

This opportunity is for three separate placement students, one in each area.

You will have the opportunity to apply university learning to real projects and to impact their direction, whilst embracing a varied and challenging work load.

You will be working with experienced engineers offering you support and guidance. You will get to see projects at different phases of the product lifecycle. The work is technically challenging, innovative and rewarding. The variety of work offered within the department also presents an excellent opportunity for personal development. The department consists of a team of highly skilled and versatile engineers, with a broad mixture of technical expertise and experience. Everyone in the team is friendly, approachable and willing to help whenever necessary.

Systems Engineering at Knorr Bremse involves the integration of our products with our customer’s train and we welcome Placement applicants from Electronics, Mechanical or Software backgrounds who are happy to work across the disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with experts developing new products in a multi-discipline engineering function.
  • Deliver specialist tasks and projects in Electronics, software or Systems engineering.
  • Be involved within the full product lifecycle of safety critical applications in the Rail Industry.
  • Hands on design, development and testing of products and systems.
  • Be a key integral individual within the engineering team.
