IT Service Desk Technician Placement

The placement programme provides a good insight into how an IT Infrastructure and Services Team support IT end users. During your placement year you will have the opportunity to use and gain knowledge on a variety of technologies the business utilises.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support internal and external business users – ensuring all requests and issues are dealt with in line with recognised service levels.
• Ensure business DR plan is sustained – be responsible for maintaining our main backup system and ensuring backups are complete ready for restoring if needed.
• Perform system health checks – proactive checks of our hardware, software and services to maintain an efficient computer infrastructure.
• Perform hardware/software tasks – including software installs, updates and hardware upgrades where required.
• Document systems for user referal and document fixes for department referals.
• Undertake project work – to help develop current or new systems when required to meet business objectives.
• Provide advice and training – proactively seek opportunities to give ad-hoc advice to users and training sessions to increase business efficiency with the technologies available.
• Optionally, we will give you the opportunity to leave with a Microsoft Certification that is highly recognised in the IT industry
