PR and Social Media Assistant (B2B) Placement

To Start: July 2020 for 12 months

We are recruiting for two roles within the Panasonic Business team, divided across PR and Social Media. These roles will support the following categories: Visual System Solutions, Broadcast & ProAV, Security Solutions, Communication Solutions and Integrated Solutions.

The Roles:

PR Assistant

  • To support the European Panasonic Business public relations function, developing content including press releases and case studies and reporting this back to relevant media.
  • Liaising with journalists and media partners with thought leadership pieces about Panasonic’s contribution to the latest trends in technology
  • Organising press attendees to trade shows and remaining the first point of contact for UK journalists

PR and Social Media Assistant

  • To support the European Panasonic Business public relations function, developing content including press releases and case studies
  • To create ideas, explore new opportunities and drive innovation in B2B social media, with a focus on leading the delivery of cross product category content calendars and analysing our performance
  • Being responsible for collating press clippings and reporting these back to the business in monthly European PR calls

You’ll be part of a small team with big targets and an even bigger ambition. You’ll be an integral part of the team and will have the freedom to think of new ideas, improve existing platforms and activities, be creative and develop your marketing skills.

So, what are we looking for?

  • You need to love words. We’re looking for a storyteller. Someone who can look at everything as a journalist and think of angles that will bring the stories to life. Once you identify the angles you should be able to communicate it in simple, concise and interesting words that work across different media.
  • With social media, we need lots of new ideas. Creativity is a key asset in this role.
  • Close attention to detail to ensure that whilst the ideas are great creatively, they are also executed precisely.
  • We’re looking for someone who can take initiative and find solutions. You’ll have lots of responsibilities and we’re a small team. You’ll have all the support you need, so the onus is on you to make the best use of it.
  • You’ll be working with a lot of different people at different levels both internally and at our agencies and partners. You’ll need strong communications skills to help push your ideas through.
  • And to manage all your responsibilities, we’re looking for you to be good at managing your time.

We work across all our B2B audio-visual products. So, you’ll be working on everything from high brightness projectors used within concerts and the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, high-end cinematography cameras used to shoot your favourite TV shows, and security cameras which give us all the freedom to feel secure.

You’ll be exposed to all aspects of communication from traditional public relations activities such as organising press conferences at the European trade shows (which you will attend) and day-to-day contact with media, through to supporting our social media activities across our product categories.

What kind of person are we looking for?

Qualifications/experience:

  • Degree or experience relating to marketing communications, journalism or PR desired

Skills and Abilities:

  • Good communication and organisational skills essential
  • Excellent writing skills essential
  • PC literacy and intermediate to advanced knowledge of common business applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint are essential along with basic image manipulation for reports
  • The ability to speak additional languages is NOT required

Personal Qualities:

  • Enthusiastic team player with a good sense of humour
  • Good initiative and ability to think creatively whilst having the capability to follow instructions
  • Organised with good time management
  • Flexible and adaptable
