Business Insights and Analytics Placement

Our Digital team is innovating how we understand our patients and their needs. Working cross functionally we are inventing new ways of communicating, measuring and interacting with our customers and patients through digital channels and technologies.

The Business Insights and Analytics Team is responsible for Market Research, Market Intelligence, data analysis, forecasting, performance monitoring, and metrics tracking across our company product portfolio. We work closely with Marketing, Sales, and Finance to support market understanding and effective customer engagement to ensure we focus on emphasising the value of our brands to our customers and, more importantly, patients through a number of different channels. We play a critical role in guiding business decisions and tactical planning.

These roles entail responsibility for the reporting of our company and competitor information to the Leadership team. The successful candidates will be involved in data analysis, marketing activities, market research, future performance indicators and the reporting on corporation and product sales. This will involve working cross functionally across the company’s portfolio, providing valuable opportunities to gain experience in other roles and responsibilities across these groups. This provides a superb opportunity to learn about the dynamics of the pharmaceutical industry and the major competitor companies within.

Key Objectives:

  • To support the delivery of Corporate and Product Performance reporting across the portfolio
  • Support the delivery of regular sub-national sales and channel performance reports for promoted brands
  • Providing analysis and insight on key performance indicators to aid decision making
  • Providing Sales Bonus and incentive tracking across the Sales Teams
  • To support Analysts with Adhoc Marketing and Sales Analysis to support critical business questions
  • Manage key data sources to ensure timely and accurate provision of sales and activity information across the organization
  • Managing key elements of the Sales Force Incentives Plan

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of Monthly Product Performance reports – national and sub-national
  • Manage third party sales data provision
  • Manage consolidation of performance reporting
  • Support the delivery of the local and national sales-force incentive plans
  • Engage in development of market research projects, shadowing analysts
  • Assist in the production of management presentation and Planning summaries
  • AV Studio training and involvement in internal training video editing

Education and Skills:

  • Maths or Science degrees required
  • Entering your third or penultimate year of study, returning to your degree course at the end of the placement
  • Minimum B grade in Maths and/or Sciences at A level
  • Ability to communicate accurately both verbally and in writing
  • Good organiser and administrator
  • Team player, learning from and helping others overcome obstacles
  • Numerate with good analytical skills both in terms of data and people
  • Confident with a willingness to get involved
  • Strong sense of urgency takes initiative to do things without being asked
  • Has a can-do attitude, anticipates problems and proposes solutions, approaches work challenges creatively with fresh ideas
  • Listens and adapts to improve
  • Ability to run projects
  • A self-starter who can be relied upon to work without supervision

Successful applicants will be provided with a formal job offer shortly after the final interview. You will also receive a handover period with the current placement student to ensure you are best prepared for the role.
