Franchise Placement

Do you want to work for one of the world’s leading media and entertainment companies in the development, production, marketing of entertainment and news?

Our NBCUniversal Franchise Team manages the brand strategy for our core franchises across EMEA, working within the Brand Development team to support our consumer products and retail business and working closely with many internal teams and business units to ensure brand alignment. Our placement students learn many of the skills necessary for a career in the creative and high-energy world of marketing and franchise management.

To join one of our 12-month placements you will be studying or have no more than one year of experience post your graduating with a degree-level or equivalent course.

You must also be eligible to work in the UK without restriction for the duration of the placement.

Job Description:

As an placement student, you will have the opportunity to make valuable contributions to your department and build your knowledge in order to pursue a career in brand strategy, marketing and franchise management.

Exact responsibilities will vary slightly between each division/team however, the main responsibilities of any Franchise Marketing Placement will include:

  • Be a proactive pivotal team member supporting the Franchise and Marketing VPs objectives across all franchises from Illumination, Universal, DreamWorks Animation and DreamWorks TV properties and taking on ad-hoc projects
  • Inspire teams to collaborate on plans across our core franchises - Jurassic, Trolls, Minions, Dragons, Spirit, Fast & Furious and Universal classic movies
  • Information collation and sharing across Global, Regional and Local Franchise teams and Brand Development teams
  • Support the regional Franchise team in creating and approving marketing materials for regional and local activations - focusing on consumer products and retail partners
  • Assist with competitor analysis, looking at insights, box office performance, TV ratings, consumer product offering and retail sales data
  • Analyse data to identify gaps and opportunities across all core franchises
  • Support the team at key events and trade shows, from hosting staff to presentation builds, to creating information booklets
  • Assist at key marketing events onsite and offsite such as costume character tours and consumer experiences, from planning, tour scheduling, onsite admin and project management and post review of activity
  • Maintain Franchise decks with latest information ensuring all teams are informed with the most recent Franchise and Marketing information, timings and facts
  • Manage Franchise information sharepoint site ensuring all information is up to date and relevant
  • Build Placement network across other divisions to aid information sharing
  • Ad hoc projects as directed by the team

Education & Qualifications:

You will be studying or recently graduated with a marketing or business degree-level or equivalent course, seeking a 12-month placement in, marketing or related studies.
