Sales Placement

Position: Sales Placement (Sales Development Roles and Sales Renewals Roles)
Location: White Collar Factory, Old Street, London
Role Requirements: Second Year Undergraduate Student at a UK-based University, predicted a 2:1 or above in any degree
Duration: 12 months, commencing Summer 2020
Salary: £18,000 per Annum plus commission

As Egress Software Technologies continues its path of exciting growth, we are offering the exceptional opportunity to join our Sales team. This candidate will be an undergraduate student looking to undertake a 12-month placement in our Sales department as part of their university degree, commencing Summer 2020.

This role will be based at Egress’ headquarters, in and amongst many other technical organisations in Old Street, London – right in The City of London and a stone’s throw away from trendy Shoreditch!

What would I be doing as Sales Placement?

Our Sales department is crucial to generating new business and managing existing customers. The successful candidate will undertake Sales training and gain a wide range of experience in a rapidly growing international software business.

We have two role options – Sales Development roles and a Sales Renewals roles. Please indicate in your Cover Letter which role you would like to apply for.

In the Sales Development role, your responsibilities will involve:

  • Promoting Egress Products and Services to customers through Egress’ Business Development process
  • Contacting potential new businesses as pre-defined in the Sales Territory Plans via various channels including phone, email, and social media.
  • Undertaking team outfit-themed call-out campaigns to generate leads for new business and managing the new customer process (using BANT qualification models)
  • Managing Inbound leads generated through Trial Downloads, Web Enquiries, Web Chats, Webinars, Events, etc.
  • Becoming an expert in the information security industry, including knowledge of products, competitors and customer requirements
  • Using your product expertise to advise customers on how Egress can be used to meet their requirements and develop their business
  • Meeting quarterly targets aimed at increasing pipeline, revenue and performance

In the Sales Renewals role, your responsibilities will involve:

  • Managing and quoting renewal deals for existing customers, depending on their budget and requirements
  • Flagging and forecasting any changes to the customers current subscription
  • Reviewing accounts regularly to flag opportunities to expand or grow the customers current subscription and accounts that could be at risk of not renewing
  • Implementing a mitigation plan for every risk renewal in partnership with customer success and account managers
  • Managing legal documentation, ensuring the customer has our latest T&Cs
  • Working closely with account managers, customer success, tech services and support teams to ensure that the customer is fully supported
  • Updating records in CRM to ensure that they are up to date
  • Implementing a customer communications plan closely with marketing to make sure that customers are kept up to date with changes to our products
  • Supporting team outfit-themed call out day campaigns and customer events when required.
  • Developing contacts to ensure we have multiple touchpoints, relationships and stakeholders across the business
  • Supporting customer success with multiple tasks such as onboarding and kick off meetings
  • Attending customer and/or partner meetings when required
  • Generating new ideas to support our existing customers

Who is Egress looking for?

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic second year student at university who is studying in a UK based university, predicted a 2:1 or above in any degree. We don’t expect you to have previous experience in Sales (although previous exposure would be beneficial). You will be well-suited if you are interested in pursuing a career in a role similar to this.

To protect the wellbeing of our employees, our company policy states that all employees must live within a 90-minute commute or be willing to relocate for the year.

The base salary for this position is £18,000 per Annum plus commission. If you manage to impress us throughout the duration of your placement year, it is possible you could be offered a permanent Graduate position. Employee benefits include:
