Manufacturing Engineering Placement (Aerospace)

Working within the Manufacturing Engineering department of the Broughton site, this is an exciting opportunity to influence and drive change in an established wing manufacturing facility.

The Manufacturing Team is a large department covering subjects such as; new product introduction working closely with R&T; continuous improvement and development of our current industrial systems; introduction & industrialization of new technologies; introduction of digital manufacturing solutions and daily technical support to production.

Given the large scope of the department we will endeavor to find the best area to suit you and your development resulting in an exciting, challenging and rewarding working experience.

Tasks:

During this internship, the activities you may undertake will include:

  • Deliver an optimised industrial system concept and Influencing the product design
  • Ensure the creation of best industrial sequence
  • Drive line efficiency with continuous improvement.
  • Drive machine efficiency.
  • Simulate the global performance of the industrial system
  • Deliver best in case industrial system, using dedication processed & tools.
  • Develop & deploy new manufacturing machines and processes
  • Initialise new technologies into serial production
  • Project manage the integration of new machines & systems.
  • Derive the best build sequence
  • Ensuring the design requirement are delivered.
  • Creation and development of numerical control programmes.
  • Identify, Analyse and solve technical shop floor issues

Our Internships are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

  • Attention to detail a must
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Innovative mindset with creativity & strong analytical skills
  • Self-motivated in managing personal time, goals and objectives
  • Able to work autonomously, recognising when support is required and seeking advice when necessary

You must be an undergraduate for the full duration of the placement, studying towards a degree in one of the following:

  • Relevant Engineering Degree such as Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical.
