As a Junior Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be learning to assist in the support of a range of existing reporting solutions/systems. This includes providing user support in terms of being a central contact point for all users in Europe with questions regarding SAP BW reporting, and associated tools, plus the monthly forecast input cycle and annual budgeting process. Furthermore, you will be expected provide training and maintain training materials for end-users on various reporting solutions (e.g. SAP BW, SAP BO).

To ensure consistency on the reporting platform, you will be responsible for assisting with administering platform governance tasks (usage monitoring, new development requests) as well as approving user access requests.

Alongside fulfilling ad-hoc reporting requests from various internal platforms (e.g. consumer electronics business units, sales and marketing, controlling, finance, accounting and operations), the development of new, and refining existing reporting is a key part of the role. This entails taking customer requirements and delivering an appropriate reporting solution that fulfils the original requirements, is based on appropriate technologies and is delivered in a timely manner. Furthermore, post go-live support of solutions is required on an ad-hoc basis to allow customers to fully utilise BISE’s solutions.

Whilst these roles must be often delivered simultaneously together (sometimes under high time-pressure), this role provides an ideal learning opportunity to gain hands-on experience with industry-standard Business Intelligence tools such as SAP BW, Business Objects and QlikView. Additionally, it will give you an introduction to the wide range of functions within Sony as you will be providing a valuable service to other Sony departments, whilst bringing energy and collaborative instincts to the role in order provide outstanding customer service.

Your profile:

  • Undergraduate student studying Business IT / Computer Science / Mathematics,…as part of a sandwich course.
  • Excellent communication skills – can write clear, respectful emails that articulate complex/technical issues clearly to a wide range of audiences and cultures.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills – able to detect patterns and trends.
  • Great attention to detail, analytical and numerate – able to consolidate data from disparate sources – with accurate results.
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong initiative - able to take on new tasks and work on them independently, including liaising with appropriate team members when support is required.
  • Willingness to learn – self-studies required technologies independently (including KT from SMEs in the team).
  • Calmness and resilience under pressure – need to be able to work to tight deadlines with complex requests.
