Engineering

Innovation is fundamental to everything we do at Sony. Sony Home Entertainment & Sound Europe, are the European TV design team with responsibility for the design, specification, testing and launch of Bravia TV related products into European markets. This department is offering three engineering intern roles:

Software Engineer Intern x2:

Working with state of the art platforms that use Android and Linux technologies, you will be part of our Software Quality Assurance team, evaluating and testing software in innovative ways for the next era:-

  • You will be challenged to develop AI software testing solutions for the very latest Bravia TV features and applications.
  • Using your Python programming skills extensively, you will update the interface of the AI solution.
  • You will be involved in Benchmarking and Competitive Analysis to look for innovation opportunities and report your findings to other SVPE teams and other stakeholders.
  • You will be working on the latest Television technology and will play a part in the introduction of Sony’s next generation of flagship TV’s.

Requirements & Specifications Intern:

Joining the Requirements and Specifications team, you will be working in the areas of Digital Television technical specifications and technical market requirements :

  • To support the Requirements Capture Manager and team members in the capture and tracking of the European TV requirements from relevant technical standards and European operators.
  • To create software tools and/or innovative solutions for problems faced by the Requirements group and wider SHES-E department
  • Support of interoperability testing and features for emerging technologies.
  • You will be working on the latest Television technology and will play a part in the introduction of Sony’s next generation of flagship TV’s.

Your profile:

  • Studying towards a degree in Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, Technology, or Computer Science Degree in business management, marketing, economics
  • Language: English (fluent)
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Must be able to work as part of a cross-disciplinary team, demonstrate a methodical approach to work and attention to details.
  • Good understanding and experience with Python programming language and machine learning/neural networks is a plus.
  • Open-minded and proactive

Our recruitment process:

The job posting will be open until 2nd of December 2019. The selected candidates will be invited to perform a video interview during November & December.

The shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an assessment center for these three roles specifically in the first half of February in our office in Basingstoke.
