Management Assistant and Communications Strategy Placement

We are looking for an intern to join the AOCS/GNC (Attitude and Orbital Control System/Guidance, Navigation and Control) team of engineers who work on current and future space missions. The internship is a stimulating blend of learning about management organisations, business proposals and work supporting the design and implementation of an effective communication strategy, aimed at conveying the engineering work value to internal and external stakeholders.

You will work directly with the Head of Department, providing business analysis and support to proposal work and to communication outreach. The department focuses on a number of large ESA projects currently being conducted at Airbus Defence and Space, with a wide variety of stakeholders across Europe.

Task & accountabilities:

During this internship, the activities you may undertake will include;

  • Business analysis, focusing on competitive intelligence
  • Mapping of prospects and funding opportunities
  • Department communication strategy design and implementation, within all available channels
  • Organisation of internal and external customer communication events
  • Tracking of customer satisfaction and engagement, with establishment of relevant KPI

Please note our Internships are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

  • Currently studying a business-related, marketing or communications degree
  • An interest in or knowledge of proposal or fund raising work
  • Desirable: Proficiency in the use of Social media platforms for marketing strategy

The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs.
