Introduction to the Human Resources Team:

The UK Human Resources team are looking for a HR Intern to join them for a one year programme to provide HR support for the UK.

Oracle has 5,500 employees in the UK – a number which is constantly increasing. The HR team provide support for employees and the business. During the year the successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain a breadth of experience by working within and supporting a number of different functions within HR.

Responsibilities:

Oracle is a fast moving global organization which is constantly changing. We are offering a varied and interesting HR Intern Programme providing an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to begin their career in HR. Below are the areas and types of projects/experience you are likely to be exposed to during the programme.

The HR Central Team is the employee interface. They answer 30,000 emails and 5,000 calls from employees per annum. This team is a great starting point for gaining experience as you are exposed to a wide range of queries from employees including the following:

  • Benefit advice
  • Reference requests
  • Policy advice
  • Holiday queries
  • Leaving and joining Oracle
  • Harmonisation following acquisition
  • Pay
  • Home-working
  • Data corrections
  • Self Service support

The HR Central team also manage HR Operations relating to Mergers & Acquisitions, redundancies, job offers and inductions, Sick Pay, Maternity Pay etc.

The Compensation and Benefits Team (C&B) work on a number of projects throughout the year. Examples include:

  • Harmonisation of pay and benefits following Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Salary Range reviews
  • Select flexible benefits programme

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to get involved in projects taking place at the time.

The HR Business Partners (HRBPs) provide support for the business directly liaising with managers. They get involved in a number of projects dependent on current business needs and Merger & Acquisition activity. There may be opportunity to get involved in these areas as the need arises.

The HRBPs also continually work on Employee Relations issues - the successful candidate will have the opportunity to sit in on grievances, disciplinaries, performance improvement processes, and redundancy processes and will witness how these processes are conducted in a real workplace.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with and be coached by the HR Business Partners throughout the programme.
