Project Management Associate - Placement Student

SAP is looking for passionate, motivated and articulate second year students, currently on course for a 2:1 degree with a keen interest in working in a fast-paced, exciting environment. The Role

In a Business Project Management role at SAP you will get a chance to work as part of a fast-paced dynamic team. You will gain insight into the running of a large corporation and be part of a team which is driving growth in business and technology innovation and is part of the strategic change program for SAP. During your placement you will have the opportunity to be fully responsible for the development and delivery of internal projects, supported by an experienced, global team.

Innovation Services and Solutions is a Global Team driving business and technology innovation topics in SAP. We have a team of 2,500 experts spanning 20+ countries. Working with us is an opportunity to work in an exciting, high growth area for SAP in an organisation that crosses functional and organisational boundaries.

As an intern in our team, you will be a critical team member; your perspective and your skills will be valued and you will have the opportunity to work directly with the managers and leaders of our business. You will have all the necessary support to allow you to be successful in both helping on existing projects and running your own. Your work will be very varied and you will work on multiple projects simultaneously, no two weeks will be the same! Some of your day-to-day activities could include: managing project plans and processes; organising, attending and running business meetings; working with the team to resolve risks and issues in ongoing projects, researching innovation topics to support projects or helping our leadership and management team prepare for key meetings/events.

Your work will be strategically important to our business; and will be fully aligned with business priorities. Some past examples of our interns work include:

  • Running a project to research and analyse trends in intelligent technologies
  • Helping to design and implement a new reporting system for our organisation
  • Creating promotional videos with our leadership team to promote our organisation internally and externally
  • Supporting our managers in running our internal change program
  • Supporting (and over time transitioning to managing) agile project processes such as Sprint Meetings, Retrospectives etc

Role Requirements

Essential:

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (particularly Powerpoint and excel)
  • Time management and the ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Flexible, adaptable and comfortable with changing priorities
  • Confident and articulate verbal and written communication (English)
  • Pro-active and an independent thinker, with a “can do” attitude
  • Comfortable with the possibility of travel for work, remote working and working with team members from a range of cultures and backgrounds
  • Experience and enjoyment of working in teams

Beneficial:

  • Basic understanding of the principles of project management, including Agile
  • People leadership experience an additional advantage
