Business Transformation Office Placement

Our Market Access team monitor population demographics and develop solutions to give patients access to our medicines. We act as both educators and advocates for our products, processes, and practices that help us revolutionize how our medicines create value in society.

About The Role:

The Business Transformation Office is part of the Strategy, Value & Access department. The team mission is to partner with the UK Human Health Leadership Team to define and deliver initiatives that enable the successful attainment of key business priorities.

The role of Student Placement will focus on supporting the scoping and execution of strategic projects to deliver the UK Human Health business priorities. The nature of these projects will vary according to need but all will be expected to drive tangible benefits to our business.

It will be vitally important that the role incumbent is adaptable and confident to work on multiple, diverse projects in parallel. They will need to be comfortable with working on short-term faced-paced projects, as well as longer, slower projects. They must also be understanding that priorities change and so too can the project focus. A critical part of this role will be engaging other employees and, on occasion, external vendors. Listening and communication skills are therefore of paramount importance – be it to engage one-to-one, contribute to group discussions, facilitate discussions and/or present to audiences. As projects sometimes have a direct impact on the day-to-day working of employees it is important that the individual has good awareness of the needs, agendas and behaviours of others and themselves. Finally, the individual must be adept at conducting robust qualitative and quantitative analysis to craft recommendations.

For the right individual, this provides a superb opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical industry, the challenges faced and changes required to ensure long-term success. It will also provide deep insight into the way projects should be run and techniques to gather insight and develop buy-in from a broad spectrum of people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of key strategic projects, collaborating with fellow employees and vendors as required
  • Develop project plans and monitor their execution on time and to appropriate levels of quality
  • Support the planning, execution and follow-up of meetings, ensuring actions are accurately captured, documented and delivered
  • Support the communication of project progress and outcomes to all relevant parties
