IT Placement

Hilton has a fantastic opportunity for a tech-savvy student to join our IT department on a 12 month placement. As an Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn on the job and gain practical understanding of hospitality technology, business processes and communication, and stakeholder management. This role reports straight to the Vice President of IT, and you will support the Area Field Technology team in delivering Hilton’s technology proposition to our EMEA hotel portfolio.

A bit about the team

The Area Field Technology teams deliver Hilton’s technology proposition to our hotel portfolio across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

A bit about the job

As an intern, you will be an integral part of the team and will play an active role in our continued success. Some of the more specific responsibilities you will be taking on are detailed as follows;

  • Providing administrative support to the Area Field Technology team.
  • Managing communications to key internal and external stakeholders, including key announcements and information about new initiatives and projects.
  • Completing several “Sprint” projects with exposure to hotel operations, research and creative thoughts.

The projects allocated to you would be depend on your particular skill set, but might include the following:

  • Determine the effect Cloud Computing has on the lodging business and determine what strategies are required to best embrace this technology change.
  • Review the current IT support models in EMEA and create a working blue print to optimise and standardize for the future.
  • Quantify the learnings from the Focused Service IT business model and determine what aspects can be ported over to the full-service business.

What are we looking for?

As with any job, we do have certain criteria that you will need to meet in order to be considered for this amazing opportunity. These are detailed as follows;

  • Must be in your second year of undergraduate study at the point of application.
  • Must be studying towards an IT or Computer Science related degree
  • Must be available to start in June 2020, for the full 12 months.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK. If you are a non-EU national then you will need to be studying at a UK university in order to be eligible to undertake a placement here.
  • Passionate about delivering projects to a high standard
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work unsupervised if required
  • Proactive, resilient, and with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
