Safety, Security and Resilience Placement

BSH Home Appliances Ltd is looking to recruit an Intern to fill the position within the Safety, Security and Resilience area of its business. This position is open to students who are interested in gaining meaningful experience within the risk and emergency management sector, whilst expanding their knowledge and involvement in the business continuity and disaster recovery fields. You will have the opportunity to contribute to this business area, whilst simultaneously learning from experts currently working within BSH.

The Safety, Security and Resilience department is responsible for the following areas/activities:
1. Health and Safety
2. Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery
3. Emergency Planning and Response
4. Investigations
5. Travel – Events- Crime Prevention – Site (physical) Security

Key activities:

  • Be an integral member of the Safety, Security and Resilience team. Work and learn within the function and live operations to ensure all processes, organisational, internal risk controls, business continuity and emergency response, disaster recovery matters are identified, documented and managed effectively to support, both academic, and corporate outcomes.
  • Promote the functions activities, requirements and good practices throughout the business, in accordance with company policies and regulations.
  • Support in controlling both the Internal Control Systems (ICS) and organisational risk management.
  • Link with internal stakeholders to understand and support their respective internal risk control and business critical activities and business continuity needs.
  • Actively support the Health and Safety function within the department.
  • Participate in presentations, delivering training on department related topics.
  • Maintain department trackers, data analysis and databases.

Ideal Candidate:

This role would best suit an enthusiastic undergraduate either from the following fields of study, or looking to work in these areas:
Risk Management - Risk and Security Management - Business Continuity - Security Management – Emergency Management - Disaster Recovery.
