Supply Chain Business Analyst Placement

Business Analysts (BAs) work on project teams with Application Developers, Testing Analysts, and Project Managers on large projects. On smaller projects, the BA is expected to perform the project management function, including scope, time, and quality (including data quality management). BAs work on several applications, projects, and/or programs simultaneously. BAs gather and clarify business requirements with the customer to understand the business problem. They must understand the customer's business processes to identify the value drivers associated with the project. A BA will also look to engineer the business process to drive the most business value.

During the build phase of the Program Life Cycle or Software Development Life Cycle, the BA may perform testing as a quality check to ensure business and data quality requirements have been addressed in the solution. When involved in testing, BAs plan and execute User Acceptance Testing by defining acceptance criteria; they also coordinate testing efforts and demonstrations with end users.

In the Deployment phase of the application, project, or program. BAs are often responsible for coordinating end user training and facilitating 'Train the Trainer' sessions. BAs must have strong communication and customer engagement skills given their role in explaining and clarifying issues with the customer and translating business requirements into technical requirements for the project team.

The BA will also have some responsibility for managing the change to the business through transition change management. Some BAs perform specialized tasks in addition to their core job responsibilities. For example, BAs may consult on tools, systems, services, or application integration provide input to system design make decisions for functionality and configuration configure applications gauge and measure data quality levels and/or provide production support and troubleshooting.

The Supply Chain Solutions group is focused on the delivery of key systems and projects that enable Intel's customer supply chain to be more efficient, productive, and adapt to changing business requirements. Business Analysts are often considered as those who bridge the gap between IT and Business stakeholders. Working within the team it will be required of you to elicit & document requirements, both defining and recommending IT solutions.

You will also be required to translate business requirements to project delivery teams and guide them throughout the project life cycle. Creating project material such as AGILE User Stories, acceptance criteria, business process modelling and test plans are all duties carried out by a Business Analyst. Working between technical and business teams the majority of your time will involve people interaction, building relationships, teamwork, and helping others connect with one another. Qualifications

This is a 13-month fixed term placement suitable for second year students undertaking a sandwich degree, and are on target for at least a 2:1 on completion of second year studies. All applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK. Please confirm this in your application. This placement is not degree specific, however we are seeking candidates who display interest and enthusiasm in the areas in which our Supply Chain Solutions Team support. A background in business or IT is not essential and no previous IT/system knowledge is required.
