Mechanical Engineer (Tooling) – Placement Student

Become a part of our Engineering team. We are responsible for generating high end customisation to the standard ASM catalogue machines.

Within the Tooling department you will undertake aspects of the development cycle (e.g. generation of solutions and testing), and will be influential in enabling our customers to develop next generation technologies. Our expertise is focused on producing systems that support key players in the ‘Semiconductor Packaging’ Industry and, in particular, Singulation.

This is a role for individuals who like to be ‘hands on’ and want to expand their knowledge across other engineering disciplines. You will learn the skills of working in an engineering environment and will be a part of a ‘fun’ but professional team.

About you

You will bring the following skills and experience to us:

• Currently studying for a degree in a relevant mechanical engineering field.
• Be able to demonstrate competence within the mechanical engineering discipline.
• Be willing to extend knowledge to other key engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical & automation) and hence visualise ‘out of the box’ solutions on a system level.
• Able to develop skills in basic theories, practices, or procedures in one or more ‘skill-areas’ through formal training.
• Able to build stable and useful working relationships; also able to co-ordinate and communicate effectively with others.
• Able to apply a logical and systematic approach when solving relatively complex problems.
• Able to adapt to changing priorities within a fast paced environment.
