IT Applications Developer
Our Applications Developer role represents an opportunity to work in a small group developing custom applications for our chemists and engineers. You will be supporting both existing applications and developing your own business solutions whilst using a variety of development tools. You will also get the opportunity to work on projects involving lab automation, or the application of business intelligence tools to assist with the analysis and visualisation of data.
Over the 12 months you will be using development tools including:
- C# and Microsoft.NET framework
- SQL Server for database development
- Web development with JavaScript and .NET Core MVC
- Cloud Services
IT Solutions Centre
As a student working within the Solutions Centre, you will be using your creativity and problem-solving skills to support the business community both locally and further afield. As well as providing IT support to a global organisation you will also have the opportunity to work as a team member on technical projects utilising a diverse range of technologies. We’re looking for someone who has an interest in and pursuit of a degree in IT and has basic knowledge of PC hardware/software including Microsoft Office suite and mobile devices such as iPhones.
At Lubrizol, we have a wide range of placements available across a number of different disciplines. At our Hazelwood site, for Science and Chemistry students, we also offer lab based roles within Component Science, Applied and Strategic Research and Blend Test Services.
In addition to this, we offer an office based Regulatory Chemical Compliance role, which assists Lubrizol’s commitment to the health, safety and environmental aspects of our chemistries.
Our Manchester site, Blackley, home to our Advanced Materials research and development centre for excellence offers two lab based roles within our Performance Coatings Group. These are Research Chemist and Applications Chemist.

Requirements
You must be studying towards an IT related degree involving a year in industry, achieving a 2:1 or above.
