Science and Research - Chemist Placements - Manchester
Research Chemist
On placement within the Blackley Research Team, you will be working on the synthesis and development of novel polymeric dispersants for paints, inks or plastics as well as performing synthetic experiments. By working alongside technical experts, you will learn how to effectively discuss results at meetings and quarterly check-ins.
Applications Chemist
As a student within the Applications Team, you will have the opportunity to gain experience working within applications testing for polymer synthesis and organic chemistry. You will be working on the development, manufacturing and performance testing of new paints, coatings, inks or plastics using novel and commercial pigment dispersants or polymer binders. You will be working within a team of experienced chemists to perform experiments, keep an up to date laboratory note book, and learn how to communicate results at meetings. These results are then used to improve Lubrizol’s products.
At Lubrizol we have a range of placement opportunities available across a number of different disciplines. At our Hazelwood site, for Science and Chemistry students, we also offer lab based roles within Chemical Synthesis, Applied and Strategic Research and Blend Test Services.
In addition to this, we offer an office based Regulatory Chemical Compliance role, which assists Lubrizol’s commitment to the health, safety and environmental aspects of our chemistries.
If you are interested in our non-science based opportunities, we also offer placements within Engineering, Business and IT Support.
