Porsche Retail Group Finance (and Banking) Intern
This is a Placement Year position for a candidate currently studying a Finance/Accounting Undergraduate degree at University, seeking a placement for their 3rd year. The role will commence in July 2020. Please ensure that you have read and understood the requirements of the role before applying. Job Purpose:
To be responsible for maintaining the Porsche Retail Group Bank Accounts, and assisting and supporting the Management Accounts Team with their daily & monthly tasks.
Core Specific Responsibilities:
Cashier Position:
- Morning update & periodic checks of 7 bank accounts throughout the day
- Daily printing of bank statements
- Advise centre personnel of incoming customer funds on a timely basis
- Responsible for all bank statement entries being posted to Purchase/Sales & nominal ledgers on a daily & monthly basis
- Input & processing of daily telegraphic transfers
- Weekly & monthly reconciliation of bank accounts
- Advise Barclays of stopped cheques as & when required
Time Frame: Daily, weekly & monthly
Supporting the Purchase Ledger
Time Frame: Daily & Weekly &Monthly
Weekly processing of Road Fund License costs
- Responsible for posting all RFL costs to appropriate sold vehicles in order to meet month end deadlines
Time Frame: Weekly
Adhoc tasks
- Monthly analysis of fuel spend
- Monthly Legal, company car & Goodwill expense analysis for tax purposes
- Provide cover for Sales Ledger Intern when absent
- Monthly preparation & submission of Intrastat for PRG
Time Frame: Monthly tasks – to be completed after month end process
Core Accountabilities:
- To understand and assist in the delivery of Business Strategy and Objectives
- Take ownership for personal development needs in anticipation of Business requirements
- Contribute fully within the team, ensuring the right environment is maintained
- Ensure the appropriate level of management control and system exploitation is applied to all relevant systems
- Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times
