About the NHS
Our NHS is changing, in its scale, services and in the demands of it by over 56 million people who look for a service that meets their physical and mental health and social care needs.
Our population is living longer, our services are needed more than ever, and we have to achieve efficiency savings of £20 billion over the next few years.
The challenge is huge and we’re taking a more collaborative and supportive approach to meet all the demands of us. And we need to raise the number, performance and impact of leaders in health. As GMTS alumni and NHS England’s Chief Executive, Simon Stevens says, “As NHS managers we’re not just in the business of performance; as NHS leaders we’re in the business of change.”
