Human Resources Summer Analyst

This is the team that makes sure all our 130,000 employees grow, develop and get the most from their careers. So work here, and you'll be pivotal to our performance, whether you're recruiting top talent, promoting an inclusive culture or making sure our rewards are fair, imaginative and motivational. You'll also have opportunities to learn from experts, work across geographic and divisional boundaries, and potentially contribute to policies and frameworks that could affect not just our business but the industry as a whole.

What to expect

It’s an important time in your development and in our transformation. On this nine-week programme, you’ll support leaders across our organisation in achieving Barclays’ strategy. At the same time, you’ll find that those senior leaders are deeply invested in your career development, always sparing time and effort to help you build on your experience. In this thriving environment, you’ll take on new opportunities, challenge yourself, and help drive our change and transformation agenda. With a high degree of responsibility and ownership, you’ll find out what it takes to deliver and support strategy across a global business.

How you’ll develop

Over just one summer, you’ll be surprised by the progress you make on our programme. As well as taking on your own live projects – with all the responsibility and ownership that entails – you’ll also benefit from structured training. Our opportunities are designed specifically to aid your development, ranging from work shadowing and networking to technical training and senior leader sessions. You’ll learn from subject matter experts, supported by current graduates and graduate alumni. Through your Line Manager, buddy and mentor, you’ll use feedback and personal coaching to constantly improve your performance. You’ll also get involved in the broader activities of the HR function, learning how we enable ourselves to deliver priorities, develop ourselves as HR professionals, and recognise our achievements together. Join us and discover how we develop and recognise the brightest talent, how we connect and energise the HR function, and how we deliver strategy to instil excellence across our organisation.

Who thrives here

At Barclays, we look for commercially minded problem solvers and passionate relationship builders. You can come from any degree discipline if you’ve got the curiosity and the analytical skill we need.

In HR there are certain qualities we all have in common. Team-working is one, and the drive for self-improvement is another. We make sound judgements because we question and challenge our approach every day. We maintain the highest standards in risk management and we look for the same in our graduates. So if that’s you, a self-starter who understands our values and our culture – we can help you thrive.

We are looking for interns who share our passion for citizenship and want to help Barclays give back to the community. There are many opportunities and initiatives that allow you to work with other like-minded individuals to use your energy and skills to help others.
