Business Development Placement

Key responsibilities include;

Business Development

  • Market research - by web, phone, attending events and conferences.
  • Business development projects - profiling emerging technology companies in the UK, Europe and the US. Identifying relevant individuals and approaching to secure introductory meetings. Supporting roadshows / business development campaigns for senior Partner-level meetings in the UK, mainland Europe and the US (mostly the high tech sector in Silicon Valley, California).
  • Produce briefing documents to prepare the Managing Partner for key meetings.
  • Support NGS Global executives internationally on business development and project delivery - especially Germany, the US and Asia Pacific.

Service Delivery

  • Attending confidential client and candidate interviews and drafting client-facing documentation.
  • Assist the Managing Partner and Research Manager in executive search project delivery.

Operations

  • Researching and writing high-quality content for white papers and articles, then publishing via social media. This will involve interviewing senior executives and thought leaders face-to-face or online.
  • Building the corporate infrastructure to support the firm as it grows.
  • Assist in project management with software tools including a dedicated candidate management database.
  • Deliver additional support to the Office Manager and Research Manager as required.

Key Attributes;

Essential

  • Willing and able to travel extensively in the UK (all expenses will be covered).
  • Strong work ethic. Willing and able to work long hours when required, including early morning / early evening international conference calls.
  • Able to write well and produce perfectly punctuated and grammatically correct prose without needing someone else to proofread your work.
  • Self-confident, easily able to develop rapport and build professional relationships with all kinds of people.
  • Mature and discreet, able to handle confidential and sensitive data.
  • A broad commercial awareness and a hunger for learning and self-development.
  • A self-starter, highly motivated to succeed.
  • Passionate about delivering outstanding client service that meets/exceeds expectations.

Nice to have

  • A second European language (German would be ideal) to business level.
  • An international perspective with empathy for and appreciation of different business cultures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the high technology sector. An interest in emerging technologies and their commercial impact.
  • Exposure to GDPR and its implications for executive search.

This placement would be suitable for an individual intending a career in HR, recruitment (consultant or researcher) or executive search.

Location: London and Midlands, with extensive UK travel.

Steve Lavelle founded NGS Global UK Limited in April 2019, transitioning his previous business, Lavelle Executive Search, into the Company. The UK operation focuses on delivering high-end executive search services into the technology vertical and is developing into other vertical markets such as Industrial, Commercial, Financial Services and Pharma. Steve has 20+ years in the executive search marketplace.

The Company operates exclusively at Senior Management level (Director, CxO and VP) and works solely on a retained, exclusive basis - we are not a contingent agency.

The Company is growing rapidly and now wishes to appoint an Assistant to support the Managing Partner in the company’s business development, service delivery and operations activity. This would be an ideal opportunity for a student wishing to take a gap year placement or enhance their work experience.

We are a small Company whose staff are home based. We are a dedicated Team and enjoy our work at NGS UK, we thrive on open communication, approachability and honesty. This role will involve travel to Client and Candidate meetings accompanying the Managing Partner. All business travel will be paid by the Company.
