Business Analyst – Sales & Data Placement

Understanding and measuring sales and market performance is a critical function for any business but taking it to the next level of analysis and taking action as a result is where Atlas Copco Compressors is and wants to continue to excel and this role is critical to making sure that happens.

Here’s a snapshot of what the job involves….

Reporting. This role will centre on data and particularly reporting including creating a variety of reports from a number of systems which will be used as an analytical tool for this role as well as by our sales managers and our management team. Such areas of reporting include sales data, market performance, customer appointments and lead generation.

Lead Generation. Through working with other departments and using third party sources this role will help identify and increase the number of leads our sales team has to work with. With quantity does not necessarily come quality therefore the team is tasked with also improving the quality of leads and to do this some thinking outside of the box and creativity will be needed. This could involve researching potential business online and in the news as well as working closely with the appropriate sales teams to find extra opportunities.

Part of our Lead Generation will also involve managing our LeadGen rewards, which is an internal lead generation system allowing our sales and service teams to be rewarded for introducing new leads into the company.

Data enhancement. Through identifying and providing insight into the compressor and vacuum markets, as well as using all the tools at hand, trends and information can be found and this role will involve enhancing our current data and providing these updates to our sales team.

Another area that the data enhancement will affect is the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and this role will including assisting with keeping our system data as clean as possible by running reports to highlight trends / issues that need tackling in the system by the CRM team and the Sales team.

Process Mapping Project. By understanding, mapping and adapting company processes to find improvements in how things are currently done, Atlas Copco Compressors can truly find the best way of working to benefit colleagues and customers alike. That is why it is important for this role and team to maintain and map new processes to ensure a clear understanding from all involved and the opportunity to continual improvement.

The person we are looking for is….

  • A student in their penultimate year of university Idealy undertaking an undergraduate degree involving one of the following areas: Business, Marketing or Mathematics, though other degrees will be considered.
  • Have a high level of analytical skill and enjoy working with large quantities of data, which will be key to succeeding in this role.
  • Have at least an intermediate level skillset of working with a number of computing applications essentially Microsoft Excel but also a good knowledge on the other Microsoft Office applications. Any other system history is desirable but not essential.
  • Have good communication skills through various methods including verbally and written as well as strong presentation skills as potential meetings with members of the management team will occur.
  • Able to understand and work with a large number of different processes and be able to identify possible improvements such as automation.
  • Be able to work well and effectively in a team as this role will involve working alongside colleagues in the wider team as well our external sales team.
  • Be proactive thinking with a determination to succeed.
