Product (CAD Tool) Design Engineering Placement

As our Product Design and Engineering intern you will work closely with our Product Design team, and you can expect a wide variety of tasks in different areas of mechanical and electrical engineering, such as creation of circuit diagrams and circuits, documentation of drawings, production and assembly of ERS’ products, and quality inspection and final tests.

We are devoted to giving our interns a top-quality work experience, and a real insight into the industry we are operating in. Therefore, you will be given individual and extensive training in the software and systems we use, e.g. CREO and SAGE, and we will guide you through our company’s policies and protocols.

We want to give you the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills you have acquired at university in real-life business situations, and help you learn and develop new skills that will be valuable to you in your studies and professional life.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare plans with detailed drawings – technical or otherwise and determine project specifications and cost estimates by contacting sources for deliberation
  • Execute engineering experiments to create workable solutions
  • Conducts independent practical lab work including electrical, mechanical and experimental work with technical drawings or schematics as reference.
  • Ensure tasks are completed within a reasonable time period and within the specified budget
  • Present analysis results and project solutions to technical leads, senior leaders and clients as necessary
  • Intensive use of CREO and SAGE including training
  • Independently seek out ways to benefit the company by finding out where assistance is needed and thus presenting a helping hand wherever applicable

Eligibility Criteria By joining our ERS Team you would be opening yourself up to an opportunity to work in various departments and therefore develop a variety of interpersonal and technical skills by:

  • Willingness to engage in practical work including soldering and building of ERS products
  • Ability to competently navigate CAD software (namely, CREO)
  • Ability to learn independently and quickly
  • Ease of adaptation to new environments and situations
  • Some German language skill would benefit the candidate immensely
  • Inquisitive personality and eagerness to learn
  • Forward thinking, with an ability to take the initiative
  • Applications accepted from both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students with a minimum 2:1 requirement
