Scope of the internship:

  • Working alongside the EHS team, you will involved in various aspects of compliance programs across EMEA, assisting with the development of health, safety and /or environmental procedures, Work instructions.
  • involvement in reporting, investigating incidents, including root cause analysis, participating in emergency response and preparing emergency response plans for fire, spills, other emergency events.
  • Carrying out workplace inspections across sites.
  • Managing, tracking and updating EH&S records/documentation.
  • Presentations to internal customers, teams as required.
  • Production and distribution of EH&S Metrics/reports.
  • Training as appropriate such as new starter inductions, other training as appropriate.
  • Coordinating with the external EMEA-wide consultancy program.
  • Promoting and supporting the health, safety, environment and sustainability culture.
  • Working closely with internal customers to resolve queries.
  • EH&S Contract management and coordination.
  • Organising and conducting risk assessments as required and ensuring they meet legal requirements. Implementation and training for staff on the new Illumina Risk Assessment Tool.
  • Working with operational teams to carry out root-cause analysis and investigations and coordinating/implementing corrective measures.
  • Carrying out safety inspections and managing the inspection program.

Preferred experience and qualifications:

  • Strong database skill set that includes Excel or comparable tools
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Detail focused and task oriented
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment

This role is located in Granta Park, near Cambridge, UK.

The selection Process:

Once your application has been submitted, our dedicated recruitment team will perform an initial review, and then contact shortlisted individuals via telephone, before inviting you to complete a digital, video interview. The culmination of our selection process is for the finalists to attend an assessment day at our offices in south Cambridge.

Reasonable travel and accommodation expenses will be reimbursed to applicants invited to an assessment day.

Please note eligibility to work in the UK is a requirement to participate in the iAspire program.
