Bioinformatics Support Scientist Placement

Learning commercial bioinformatics skills and technical skills for app development, and pipeline integration into BaseSpace, you’ll actively participate in professional services projects, capturing customer needs and feature requests, identifying and developing software/bioinformatics solutions. As an integral person within the bioinformatics support team, you’ll learn to provide second level support, and, with members of the wider team, identify professional services opportunities - developing solutions within the context of the BaseSpace Bioinformatics Suites.

Preferred background & Qualifications:

  • Bioinformatics, Molecular Genetics or related degree
  • Solid understanding of Molecular Genetics and genomics
  • Alternatively software development for bioinformatics: R/Python/etc
  • Linux command line skills
  • Familiarity with cloud computing environment
  • Good communication and office IT skills

NB: This role is located in Granta Park, near Cambridge, UK. Applications are being accepted up to 31st December 2018, with assessment days scheduled for the last week in January.

The selection Process:

Once your application has been submitted, it will be reviewed initially by our dedicated recruitment team, with shortlisted candidates being invited to complete a digital, video interview. The culmination of our selection process is for the finalists to attend an all-day assessment centre event at our offices. (Reasonable travel and accommodation expenses will reimbursed to applicants invited to attend an assessment day)

Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK in participate in the iAspire program.
