In essence, the key project being:

Volvo Penta is investing heavily in future technology to achieve sustainable power solutions and will be reliant upon robust and efficient business processes and systems to support the business segments and dealer network in the UK. You will be involved in the analysis of existing B2B processes and establishing new processes to support internal and external customers’ demands.

Working with the Business Support Manager, you will assist in supporting the Marine, Industrial and Market Support teams. You will be required to understand specific customer business demands and establish the correct business processes to gain internal business efficiencies against current staffing levels.

  • To understand the Volvo Penta businesses and customer
  • Review current business processes and map shortfall against today business needs
  • Review business systems and highlight improvement areas to maximise efficiency for internal users across the business segments
  • Provide cost analysis for local projects, recommendations and improvements
  • Develop business dashboards / Excel analysis and reporting functionality

Other duties:

In addition to the core projects, this new role will also support the wider remit of the Penta UK team, with a range of tasks to support team deliverables.

  • General assistance to other members of the team as required
  • Any other duties as assigned

Competencies, skills and knowledge required:

  • Team player
  • High level of computer literacy, including all standard Microsoft packages.
  • Excellent level of written & spoken English
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to present ideas in a logical & practical manner
  • Willing to travel, stay away overnight & work some weekends in supporting marine or industrial exhibitions
  • Have an interest in marine, automotive, truck, off highway, industrial and agriculture engine applications
  • High energy levels; creative & enquiring
  • Willing to learn, develop & contribute quickly
  • Ability to work well under pressure & to stringent deadlines
  • Ability to handle a number of tasks, along with core project, at any one time
  • Ability to communicate at all levels in the group
  • Current driving licence

Current degree requirements:

  • Studying for a business management / financial degree or related business degree.
  • 2 years completed – placement between 2nd & 3rd study years.
  • Academic grades on track for a First or High 2:1 on their chosen studies
