Automation Engineering Industrial Placement

An Automation Engineering placement in one of our manufacturing sites will give you hands on practical application of the theory from university. You will work with and learn from an experienced team of multiple discipline engineers, technicians and operators; who will coach and mentor you during your year to help you achieve your potential.

Working within the Automation team you will be part of the project team delivering a range of new equipment across the site eg installing and validating new packaging line control systems. You will develop knowledge in the programming of automation systems including Siemens PLCs and PCS7 systems as well as industrial network design and configuration including Industrial Ethernet, Profibus and open communications.

You will be applying the skills you already have and developing new skills such as; team working, effective communication and time management.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Strong people skills
  • PLC / PC / Programming experience
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical production processes and current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP)
  • Time management and organisational skills
