3M is seeking a Sales & Marketing Services Industrial Placement Student for their Business Services Team located in Bracknell, Berkshire. Ready to be part of what's next?

Location: Mainly Bracknell based but some travel to Loughborough should be expected

The role

Learn what life is like within a global corporate company and how it approaches sales and marketing across its 5 business groups. As well as exposure to big name 3M brands such as Post-It and Scotch this role will give you experience of the SAP systems used by many global companies and an appreciation of how a business goes about many of its sales and marketing processes.

This is an opportunity to join a broad service organisation undergoing a period of intense change. The successful candidate will be exposed to a number of areas within the Sales and Marketing Service groups, within Business Services, through a rolling programme of activity.

Teams are:

  • Pricing Administration and Analytics
  • Business Reporting & Data Analysis
  • Financial Administration of Customer Incentive Plans
  • Financial Administration of Sales Incentive Plans
  • Customer Samples Provision
  • Customer Data Administration
  • Point of Sale Data Management

Individuals will be assigned on a project basis to work closely with each team to support the high level of activity which will be required by the Business Transformation process. Depending on business needs, capability and preferences, individuals will have the opportunity to move frequently amongst the groups to get the widest exposure and learning experience or remain in a particular role to develop a more in-depth knowledge of an area.

Requirements

  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Predicted a minimum 2:1 degree in an IT or business related course
  • 120 UCAS points at A-Level or equivalent qualification (300 UCAS points based on previous UCAS points system)
  • Valid UK driving license is preferred, but not essential

Training and Development

The successful candidate will join our Sales and Marketing Services team straight away and initially undergo a period of intense training to enable their contribution to the team. They will deal with real business scenarios from day one as this is the best way to quickly build a robust knowledge base. We operate in a highly collaborative environment so placement students can rely on plenty of support from colleagues to help them get started and this will continue throughout their time at 3M.
