You apply for our commercial roles under the commercial placement application, and then based on your skill set and abilities, we will then place you where we feel you are best suited for your year. The roles we have that sit under the commercial application are:

Trading Assistant (both TUI and Marella Cruises):

Here, you will be responsible for a number of holiday destinations/cruise ships; striving to optimise sales, profitability and maximise both flight and hotel/cabin performance.

In this analytical role, you will be reviewing sales trends and using our yield system to make effective recommendations to deliver your resort/ship trading strategy, in line with market conditions - think the stock market but for holidays!

You will need to monitor and react to demand in the competitive holiday market, and take relevant pricing actions to maximise opportunities and overcome any barriers to sales. The decisions you take will directly drive the price offering to our customers, and ultimately feed in to the overall financial performance of TUI UK&I.

You also have the chance to work with several areas of the business in this role, giving you exposure to these areas, and allowing you make recommendations and join discussions that will help drive both current and future business strategy.

Product Assistant:

As a Product Assistant you will be responsible for supporting the planning and product activity of the business, and will help to implement the product strategy for a set of resort areas within the TUI UK portfolio.

You will play a fundamental role in analysing the cost base of your resorts and then setting the pricing/ margin strategy accordingly to ensure your destinations meet both financial and strategic objectives.

You will monitor competitor activity and performance, analysing and predicting market trends, and will also be responsible for monitoring our sales and quality to ensure we have the right product offering. This will be essential in continuing to help our customers “discover their smile.”

Finally, you will work with a wide range of teams across the business to help deliver both our printed brochures and our web content and ensure that the product we have is promoted correctly and accurately across all distribution channels.

Crystal Ski Commercial Executive:

In this position, you will assume the role of a Commercial Executive within Crystal Ski. Whilst on the scheme, you will support a portfolio of destinations within the Crystal Ski programme where you will gain valuable professional skills which really matter in a high performance company. From day one you will form part of a commercial team that sits at the heart of everything that we do, making important commercial decisions which will help to drive forward the strategy and profitability of the UK business.

As a Commercial Executive, your role is to provide support to the destination team. Working closely with the Destination, Yield and Aviation teams, this will be achieved by providing market & portfolio analysis, supporting the trading performance of the destinations, monitoring competitor activity and working with the Content & Customer Proposition teams to ensure the right level of exposure for key properties & strategic partnerships.

You will also be required to support in the pricing of our products, starting at the initial brochure pricing through to early and late trading. You will gauge demand for certain products to ensure that we maximise revenues.
