Supply Chain Management Placement

Take on mission-critical challenges. Help to deliver the very latest initiatives. Pioneer ground-breaking innovations. These are the opportunities open to you when you join our Supply Chain Management internship. An internship is a great way to get an insight into Rolls-Royce – and what it takes to do well here. You’ll discover how we deliver our customers’ engines and spare parts on time and at an optimal cost. It’s complex work. And it takes an ever-evolving chain of people, processes and suppliers across the globe, all working together seamlessly and intelligently.

The programme

Learning from the best in our business, you’ll take on real-life assignments. Over 12 months, you’ll get practical experience by undertaking placements in areas like resource management, physical logistics, supply chain design and inventory. You’ll be encouraged to really stretch yourself and ask questions of every team you work with. We have a wealth of expertise here and, because your development will be in your hands, it will be down to you to delve into it. Show the curiosity, eagerness to learn and innovative spark we’re looking for, and you could go on to join our graduate programme – a fantastic start to a career with one of the world’s most prestigious global companies.

What you’ll do

On this year-long internship, you’ll gain an in-depth understanding of how Supply Chain Management works with different areas of our international businesses to deliver our parts and products. You could find yourself learning how to forecast and plan in a Master Scheduler role before moving on to managing how we plan and control the global supply of turbine castings. You might also make cost and time savings by looking at new ways to store and manage inventory, or you could simplify and standardise our logistics processes. The scope of what you’ll do is vast, as is the scope of what you’ll learn.

What you’ll need

We’re looking for data-orientated, analytical people with good attention to detail and a logical approach. We’ll want to hear your ideas about how we can do things even better, so you’ll need strong communication skills developed through well-rounded life experience – academically, socially and in any previous work situations. You should also be on course to achieve at least a 2:1 degree, or a comparable qualification. Flexibility is important too, as you could be based at any of our UK sites.

What you’ll get

  • £17,850 pa (pro rata)
  • Learn from experts
  • The chance to join our graduate programme if you perform well
  • Leisure facilities and numerous sports societies and social activities
