Engineering Placement
You love nothing more than tackling complex problems. Innovating. Thinking about how things could work better. And that’s exactly the kind of mindset we look for in our engineering interns. This 12-month internship will give you exposure to some of the world’s toughest challenges, and the chance to help solve them. You’ll be part of a global team of 19,400 engineers – a team that’s as talented as it is diverse. Our engineers use their outstanding technical knowledge, determination and team working skills to create solutions they can be truly proud of. And because you’ll be working on real projects with real outcomes, you can expect to have a tangible impact.
The programme
You’ll gain practical experience on real-life assignments, working alongside experts. You’ll get exposure to different parts of the business and develop a host of transferable skills. Do well, and you could be invited to join our graduate programme – a fantastic start to a career with one of the world’s most prestigious global companies. And if you’re a student member of an institute, the experience you gain on your internship can be used to credit some of your learning towards your graduate programme and chartership status if you choose to join us.
What you’ll do
The projects you work on will support a real business need, with a direct link to our products and customers. This will be equivalent to one of the attachments from our graduate programme. It makes for a fantastic opportunity to contribute, share your ideas and make a difference. Your day-to-day tasks will vary, and you’ll receive support from skilled professionals within the business, all committed to helping you to deliver your best.
What you’ll need
We’re looking for people who’ll be happy to share their ideas about how we can do things even better, so we’ll want to see great communication skills developed through well-rounded life experience – academically, socially and in any previous work situations.
Technical abilities are a must, so you’ll need to be on track to achieve at least a 2:1 bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maths, relevant Physical Science or Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification. Flexibility is important too, as you could be based at any of our sites.
What you’ll get
- £17,850 pa (pro rata)
- Learn from experts
- The chance to join our graduate programme if you perform well
- Leisure facilities and numerous sports societies and social activities
