Cloud Operations Systems Support Placement

Working as part of a Global Nerve Center shift, you will be part of the follow-the sun 24/7/365 Oracle Cloud Operations team – with the mission to maintain and enhance the reliability, performance and operability of the Cloud environment. Oracle Cloud is a major priority for the company, resulting in rapid growth to computing environments and organization. Best of breed technologies are continually reviewed and supported for the delivery of a positive customer experience.

Using industry leading technology, as a member of the Tier 1 team, you will be working daily with highly-acclaimed Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) service offering offerings.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and administer production servers/services and test system health
  • Eyes-on-dashboard to ensure environment visibility
  • Fulfill tickets from internal and external customers related to the management of the Oracle Cloud Platform
  • Work through ticket queues in priority order, ensuring the ticketing tool is properly and effectively utilized to capture information for reporting purposes
  • Respond to monitoring alerts to quickly identify trouble source and execute defined SOPs to avoid or reduce event impact duration
  • Coordinate with GNC Tier 2 teams, Service Operations, business application and database administration functions to ensure availability, reliability and scalability of systems to meet business demands

You need to be hungry and driven to learn as much and contribute as much as you can. It's very important that you understand both sides of the coin - LEARN as much as possible, CONTRIBUTE as much as possible. If you have this mindset you will be a big success.

What training will I be given?

Shortly after your arrival, you will join a training boot camp within one of our data centres, getting you prepared for the year ahead. We are also constantly running training for everyone in the team and you will have the opportunity to follow this varied training as well. You will be assigned a mentor and together you will build a development plan combining training and coaching to rapidly ramp you up.
