A summer Internship at BAE Systems gives you a valuable 12 week insight into working life at one of the world’s most innovative companies. If you secure one of the 100+ placements available across our UK business, you’ll receive on-the-job training within a structured framework. We only offer placements when there’s work with real impact to be completed. It’s a great way to put theory into practice.

You can choose to join on a summer internship in the below discipline:-

  • Human Resources
  • Procurement

Entry Requirements

What you’ll need

To join our Business Summer Internships you must be on course for at least a 2:2 Bachelor's degree in a related subject.

You will also need to be available for the full 12 weeks.

Learning and Development

Our Summer Internships offer you the chance to hone your skills and gain valuable industry experience. You have the chance to see theory put into action, and learn from colleagues who are experts in their field.

We have partnered with EAL (the specialist, employer-recognised awarding organisation for the engineering, manufacturing, building services and related sectors) so when you complete a full internship you receive a certificate to recognise your contribution to the industry.

Benefits

You can make a real impact during your internship. And you can expect real rewards package too over the 12 weeks, with 6.5 days’ holiday a potential fast track to our graduate schemes, subject to performance and availability.

  • £16,800 p/a pro rata

Application Process

We ask all candidates to apply online using our application form to ensure our selection process is completely fair and consistent.

Your online application will involve a number of numerical, verbal and situational strength tests.

If you are successful you will have a video interview, and selected candidates will then be invited to an assessment centre.

Applications are open from the beginning of September, but roles will close when sufficient applications have been received so early application is advised.

If successful you will commence your industrial placement at the end of June 2019.

We are an inclusive employer and strive to recruit, retain and inspire the best people from the widest pool. We encourage and welcome applications from all sections of society and are happy to discuss any adjustments or arrangements, as required, to support your application.

Please be aware that many roles working for BAE Systems will be subject to both security and export control restrictions.

These restrictions mean that factors including your nationality, any previous nationalities you have held, and/or your place of birth may limit those roles that you can perform for the organisation.
