Manufacturing Engineering Placement

You will work within the Manufacturing Engineering department where you will have exposure to an enterprise employing lean manufacturing techniques and modern quality control procedures as expected from company engaged within the automotive industry. The work would involve specific project work and the ongoing job role.

This will include opportunities to work within a team to improve output and quality by:-

  • Creating new or modifying current manufacturing and quality processes and procedures;
  • Resolving problems identified either by external customers, trend data or team members;
  • Manipulating and using data to establish the basis for actions;
  • Supporting the department on key tasks and projects, supporting team members, working both independently and within teams;
  • Assisting the department to achieve its business goals.
  • Assisting the introduction of new products/processes into the business
  • Representing and promoting Cummins Turbo Technologies to the Customer, internally and externally.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Working towards a Mechanical, Automotive or similar Engineering degree;
  • Genuine interest in engineering, especially diesel engine/turbocharger technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills and a willingness to take on responsibility
  • Energy and willingness to work independently or alongside others with minimum supervision.

Your CV or covering letter must include the full title of your degree, the expected or actual grade and your pre-university qualifications.

Knowledge of metal cutting and assembly would be an advantage.
