About Portfolio Institutional

Portfolio Institutional is a small publisher at the heart of the German and British financial services industry. The publishing house is based in Frankfurt and London and delivers independent and up-to-date information, as well as detailed analyses for financial advisors and institutional investors.

Portfolio Institutional publish thought leading content to help educate and inform institutional investors. This content is distributed in print and online. Our goal in the next twelve months is to increase reach and understanding of this digital audience. The ideal candidate will be a part of this development.

Sales and Advertising Placement

We are looking for a second year student who is looking to embark on a placement year.

The successful candidate will be expected to work on three different elements of the business:

1. Delivery

  • Understanding the needs/wants of the client.
  • Going through contracts in detail to understand the needs/wants of a client, then formulating timelines and plans to achieve these goals.
  • Building time lines for each project.

2. Digital

  • The successful candidate will be expected to focus a lot on the digital side of the business. This will involve analysing Google data to build after campaign reports for clients to show them a return on investment.
  • You will also be expected to have a good knowledge of social platforms such as Twitter and LinkedIn so that you can develop the outreach of Portfolio Institutional through marketing and drive more traffic to our website.

3. New Business Development

The successful candidate will work on their networking skills by contacting/building relationships with new clients. This will consist of :

  • Contacting decision makers to book sales meetings.
  • Attending and participating in sales meetings with the Head of Sales.
  • Working on packaged solutions following meetings.
  • Closing/booking packages for clients.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Working towards a degree in an appropriate discipline.
  • Predicted a 2:1 degree classification
  • Experience in sales
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills.
  • Ambitious, hardworking and confident coupled with creativity and imagination
  • A desire to learn/achieve with a willingness to take responsibility.
