Marketing Placement

Overall Function: The role of the Marketing Intern is to assist the marketing team in the planning and execution of consumer marketing programs supporting Sherwin-Williams brand communications, new product launches and business-building initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support with new product launches, promotional campaigns, PR events and any day-to-day activities within the marketing department as required by the team
  • Provide support in the development and management of all digital activities including web and social media
  • Lead ad-hoc marketing and PR projects with the support of other team members
  • Assist with the development of merchandising materials, promotional items and literature, working with new and existing vendors for cost efficiency and on time delivery
  • Participate in new product launch testing to assess the ease of use and experience as a true consumer
  • Carry out competitor, product or customer research via desk-based analysis or field visits as required, keeping colleagues up-to-date and maintaining internal records.
  • Be the first point of contact for customers requiring catalogue copy and product images, taking responsibility for maintaining and updating the online photo library
  • Manage the marketing aids internal request system, maintaining stock levels and coordinating the shipping of marketing items to the field sales team
  • Take responsibility for maintaining the training and research centre – ensuring it remains clean and tidy, products and colour chips are in stock and paint mixing machines are filled and in good working order
  • Support in the creation of product data sheets, documentation and other marketing administration as required
  • Business support to facilitate the efficient processing of payments to our suppliers.

Personal attributes: The Marketing Intern should be an organised and adaptable individual with a real enthusiasm and sense of responsibility for their work. A team player, they will be a good communicator and have a personable character, able to work with a variety of internal and external contacts.

Experience and skills: The successful candidate will ideally be studying for a marketing or business-related degree and must be fully computer literate with a confident phone manner. A full, clean driving license and a car are essential for this role as some travel will be required. Previous professional work experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
