Trainee Manufacturing Systems Analyst

This year another opportunity exists for an enthusiastic individual studying an Information Technology related course to join the Supply Chain Operational Systems Team within the IT Department.

The major areas of development within the period of the placement will be:

  • Exposure to new technologies and skills
  • Understand and participate within the process of converting business requirements into functional designs
  • Development of stakeholder management skills that are required to support the day-to-day business operations
  • Provide first line support of all manufacturing systems, coordinating and resolving issues through to resolution
  • Explore shop floor process and the flow of information between Howdens core systems

Key skills required:

  • Studying within a relevant IT discipline
  • You need to be self-motivated and analytical, a confident communicator, organised and able to work in a structured environment with challenging deadlines.
  • You will be expected to manage conflicting priorities and your own workload to the end users satisfaction and to have the ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt your current skills to the differing scenarios you will come across.
  • With the increasing growth of Howdens and the requirement to provide a class A service to our customers, you can be sure of a diverse and challenging workload.

Duration: We'd be looking for you to start June/July 2018, although this is negotiable. The placement would be for 12 months.
