Marketing Communications Placement

The marketing communications team manage and execute plans across EMEIA to deliver outbound campaigns to our key engineering audiences. In 2018 NI is offering 4 marketing internships focused on Events (Northern Europe), Advertising & PR, Social Media, and Digital Marketing (EMEIA). The focus of these media teams is to implement promotional activities that can drive customer awareness and generate demand, supporting NI’s revenue growth.

Role Description

NI is looking for enthusiastic and talented candidates with a good understanding of marketing who are looking at joining us for their placement year, whilst studying at University. You will need to be a self-starter who takes the initiative and can quickly learn about NI, its products and marketing activities. A placement at NI will enable you to gain valuable exposure to a range of marketing communications disciplines.

Specific Duties

These duties represent a mix of responsibilities across the 4 roles:

  • Organizing event logistics utilizing various systems in conjunction with external suppliers
  • Creating digital email campaigns for product, services and event promotion
  • Content creation - developing social media posting
  • Writing and editing engaging marketing copy for news releases and other promotional channels
  • Reporting and analysis: events success, social media performance, Digital Activities and Advertising and PR Coverage
  • Assisting teams with a variety of other marketing activities and projects media-specific as directed and when needed

Person specification:

  • Working towards a degree in Marketing, Business or a related field
  • Fluency in English language is essential
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Confident working with international teams in a matrix structure
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Basic HTML Knowledge (Desirable for Digital role).
  • Ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines
  • Analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • A team player who is willing to be flexible and adapt to new situations
  • An interest in technology/technical products
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Rapid learner with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Energy, enthusiasm and initiative
  • This role would not suit an experienced hire or a graduate.

Location

  • 3 Roles based in Newbury, UK
  • 1 Role based in Woerden, Netherlands (preferably)
