Process Development Placement

Use your problem-solving skills and thirst for knowledge to work alongside the Process Development team in the UK’s leading biscuit manufacturing company.

About the role

Joining the UK Process Development team for your 12-month placement, you will have a direct influence on what the nation will be eating in the months and years ahead. Based at one of our world class factories you will work both independently and as part of a team to bring these products to the shelves. This will be achieved by working closely with our design and process innovation teams to support and lead factory trials, to ensure our new recipes can be processed in our factories. You will build your technical knowledge greatly, and understand how product and process development works in a global snacks company.

What you can expect:

  • To develop practical skills and technical knowledge of how to produce baked products within a factory environment
  • Contribute to the development of new and existing products by supporting and leading factory trials
  • Investigate line performance issues and provide solutions to help improve efficiency
  • Carry out product quality assessments to ensure products meet the standards of the business and our customers
  • Ownership of projects, with support from your line manager, giving you the freedom to grow while challenging your ideas
  • A community of interns, with whom you will collaborate on a business project to help fuel our future growth
  • Take part in the intern development programme, including modules such as presentation skills and learn more about how FMCG companies operate

  • A strong academic background, with a minimum of a 2:1 at degree level (achieved or expected) in a relevant degree
